Consisting of instrumental tracks only, the album is described as more introspective and withdrawn than its predecessor, Junior (2009).The CDs final track A Long, Long Way also includes the hidden track The Final Day, which is available as a separate track on the iTunes Store.
The extended play coincides with Ryksopp and Robyns joint tour, the Ryksopp Robyn Do It Again Tour 2014, featuring shows in Europe and North America. Fittingly perhaps, the sound is brooding and melancholic with ambient washes, despite the odd raised tempo here and there on songs such as a reworking of Monument (which featured in a different version on their Do It Again EP with Robyn, who appears again on the moody ballad Rong), opening cut the vocoder-driven Daft Punk-esque Skulls, the jittery Save Me featuring Susanne Sundfr, or I Had This Thing featuring Jamie Irrepressible. On November 4, 2014 the album was released for streaming through various platforms, on Spotify in Scandinavia and part of Europe, and on iTunes in the US and Australia, among several other streaming services. Royksopp The Understanding Rar Download On NovemberThe album is set for release on CD, vinyl and download on November 10, 2014. ![]() Maribel Guardia, the late singers former wife and mother of his son Julin. We also have some wicked funk laden rhythm with tunes like Follow my Ruin. Four years of waiting brought what was probably their biggest and possibly riskiest bet: delivering an album with plenty of vocal-oriented songs many of which were sang by themselves. That alone was not-so-Ryksopp at first glance, yet they managed to remain loyal to their cold-distant-nordic-thing style many praised in 2001. Anyone fairly into this duo who remembers what this new thing was like back in 2005, knows what Im talking about. It felt revolutionary, fresh and absolutely nothing like Melody A.M. But, put in other words, its not the sequel to Melody A.M. It delivers a surprising amount of sadness, nostalgia and a strong feeling of imminent calamity involving falling out of the illusion of love, broken hearts and a soon to happen break-up. And Ryksopp doesnt hesitate one bit to let us know about their intentions, instead, they make a very clear statement with Only this moment and shortly after 49 percent. But then we discover Ryksopp understands the whole issue as a process in which negative emotions like negation, despair and anger finally lead to a recovery. ![]() No happy ever after ending is achieved here, but a mature, down-to-earth, human and real end is shown depicting the way Ryksopp perceives relationships, and The Understanding is their attempt to show us how they view a dying love from a rich number of perspectives making the album simply unique. The Understanding is, sadly, understimated by those who got to know Ryksopp by their MTV sound on Poor Leno and Eple or even the glorious someone elses reinvention of Remind me. In fact, no one who has recently discovered Ryksopp or declares to have listened to them can skip this album, it is a must stop and the platform youll need to stand on to be able to listen and truly appreciate Junior, their masterpiece. I love Only This Moment, but it really works better as track 2, for me. Still, great album. This pressing isnt anything special that I can hear so far, but theres nothing massively wrong with it either. I left the Ryksopp project after this, and even if they have had their moments after this utter boredom of a follow up, it sort of killed the mood and my interest for the band. Come to think of it, even the cover artwork is cheap and pointless. I dont disrespect anyone that enjoys this, but I certainly dont. The delicacy of Triumphant doesnt have the strengths of, say, Shes So, but has a ghostly quality of its own. For those who prefer Ryksopps more danceable tracks, Only This Moment is a delicious pop confection. Percent, however, with Chelonis Jones, doesnt quite hit the same sweet tooth, however, and Sombre Detune seems too similar to other tracks, while Follow My Ruin doesnt really go anywhere. But the sad bounce of Beautiful Day Without You quickly makes up for those lacks, and the aching vocals of Karin Dreijer from The Knife spice up What Else Is There considerably. On the disc of extra tracks, Go Away has a bit of stalker humor to the lyrics, while Clean Sweep shows what kind of EQ tricks they enjoy the most. Plenty to enjoy, even if its not as strong as their first album. Royksopp The Understanding Rar Full Of SlickThis album is full of slick down-tempo grooves like Triumphant. Theres also quite a few vocals here including the soul-soaked 49 Percent with its beautiful flowing basslines and awesome dancey energy.
